Wednesday Wassailer
Wassailer : 1. Someone who enjoys riotous drinking
2. Someone who propose a toast; someone who drinks to the health of success of someone or some venture
Yieahahaha…right now i’m at my room. My sister had just waken me up. Feeling dizzy. Having a cold, a dry hand, an urge to get back to sleep (hey, isn’t the ultimate cure of a cold is sleeping?hahahaha..lazyness came creeping)
Yesterday i just manage to set my cupboard rearranged and slightly cleaned, hah! there were fungus in y cupboard, pretty bad it ruins the surface of the cupboard wood. In attempt to clean it, i made my room filled with fungus smell. my friend said that it was the spora who may cause the smell, oarrgg..nooo..!! so i did my sleep last night with a slayer to protect my nose,hehe..eventhough not long after i lay down, i took it off, couldn’t breathe.
yahyah..just feeling that right now, with such a room and such a diseased body, i can’t seem to think right. But come on, u can make it right pus :p tasks r waiting.
Just a Little Brew..
Lately i’ve been douing something i’ve been doing for years since i went to Bandung. I procrastinate. There areso many many reasons for me to do it, reasons i mainly made myself..
Thingking of this always gets me down. I now know i need help.
The good thing is, now i’ve started finding help..
Huhuh..hope i will rise again, hehe, even slowly..
god, pls be with me always, there’ no help other than yours..amin
The Journeys i Had..
Well hello..there,
well it’s so nice 2 have me back where i belong..
I’ve been spending my time in an old town..2 nice little old towns, Padang Panjang and Bukittinggi
from Bukittinggi i brought the caress of my cute beloved poor aunt..whom i think have brought me the way i am now, the one i’ll call a mother besides my real mom. The last text message she sent to me saying thanks for the birthday greetings, hurry finish your staff, and go back to Bukittinggi, we’ll walk around the village. haha..and she doesn’t have children, bruising my heart reading that message.
Padang Panjang..well
The decision of going there have brought so many fates of my life..
If not because of it, i won’t be contacting my beloved old friends, won’t have dared to ask to meet, for i feel the urge of hiding behind my vain, or ego, or..else. Yet if i haven’t met, i won’t be having something really serious that is going on right now..wakwaw..
but now here i am, her we go again..hihi
wonder where will i go next time, where will it take me?
Monday Madrona
Madrona : Evergreen tree of the Pacific coast of North America having glossy leathery leaves and orange-red edible berries; wood
used for furniture and bark for tanning (wordweb.info)
Well I did want to write something on Monday, but as usual I went lazy hheheh..i’ll write now anyhow.
This Monday my sister and I went to a mall nearby. We watched “Under The Three”, a film by Garin Nugroho. Well, that movie fascinated and inflicted me somehow. I really like the scene when one of the main role, a woman who’s unluckily have problem with her pregnancy so that her baby will not live long after birth, sang a song about delivering live (child) to this world while peeling and eating a tan boiled egg. That scene did disturb me a bit, kinda frustrating seeing the egg being peeled and made broken carelessly..hrrrr
But I like the movie, rich in traditional elements..even i didn’t know if they obediently used the traditional elements or just added up some traditional elements without concerning the actual use or somtin.
One of the elements that caught my mind is the musical instruments which sounds like Karinding, a sundanese traditional musical instrument shaped like a Suling, a wooden piece with edge shaped into two edges, similar to Tala Fork.
I first saw this instrument at Kang Mufid’s place. I went there to buy some Saeh tree skin from him, he is an artist who is concentrating mostly on developing the form and the use of Saeh (maybe later on I’ll write about him and saeh in a full post, I’f..i’m not lazy enough hehehe..). This musical instruments was brought there by Kang Mufid’s friend, I forgot the name, heheh. Then there he played the Karinding in front of us. It was played by putting one edge into mouth, with one hand holding the other end, and the other hand hitting one of the other end that is not being held by another hand (gyah!i haven’t made a research about this, FMIIW
:D). Well..anyway. The Karinding sound like a single stringed instrument being played by picking the strings carelessly, or sound like a grasshopper hopping; “twewng..twewng..” hahaha!
The instruments I saw at the movie look and sound a lot like Karinding. And it’s also being played in the same way Karinding is played. Now I wonder what’s the name of that instruments.
At the same time I also feel amazed. I did happened to know that Angklung, a Sundanese instrument, has it’s name derived from Balinese musical instrument, eventhough Balinese Angklung played by hitting it’s bamboo body, not by shaking it like playing Sungdanese Angklung. Now I found one more thing similar between Bali and West Java..then I start to think, in Indonesia, there must be many similarities between one region and another. It is normal, for tradition spread and may expand as the carrier travelled. And coincidentally there are some similarities between some region located far enough. What happened? I think eventhough there had been an invasion of a tradition or in this case, a traditional instrument, a tradition and culture need time and big influence to exist.
Yak..hyak..i start to get dizzy..anyway, I like the movie..so much..i love Indonesia!hahah!
ops, i found a link to Karinding
Make peace, not war..nor despair
Finally, after couple of weeks passed with ignorance, panic, frenzy, and most of all: despair, i finally feel like i’ll be able to pull myself together again.
Didn’t what happened, or what have i done these weeks..or months, lately i’ve been down und troubled and all myself so weary (ahahaha..). But lately my mood has become way gentler..dunno what happened.
still..many tasks ahead..uhh ohh…T.T, hahah..eughh..face it!!
many thanks to my BFFs and beloved friends..who listened, who tried to analyze and give solution, who chat around with me 2 make me feel at ease, and who had tried to cheer me up (it didn’t work though, but made me smile, seeing them tried hehehe..)
Between Sinatra and Whitacre..???
Friday night, two of my trusted friends suggested that i should take a break in pop or ‘other-than-choral’ singing..They said it is necessary if i want to concentrate on building my choral techniques.
It made me i remember sumthin. Almost for a year ago, my choir’s music director and vocal trainer had also said the very same. He even keep reciting it until now heheheh..
I love choral singing..yet, surely I love the possibility of going abroad in minimum budget,hehehehh..
And i also love singing recklessly while in sitting in front the band leading me and/or letting me lead them hehehe..making a dialogue, (this refer to The Bob Brothers, not other bands hehehe..)
Yet both offer great chance, hukshukshuks..
My vocal trainer said that after i learned to remember the choral singing details, i would be able to sing other genres without worrying technique crash..
yeah..when is that? can i just say ‘just sing with all ur might’?
Another day in my lovely devilish room..

Yesterday i wash shocked twice. Once, i found out that Tori amos Myspace interface isn’t even nearly close to what i had imagined..
I had always thought that she is a person with oldie style and mysterious or rather mystical image. But what i saw was an album cover, what i saw was :
Hehehe..i thought her image was like :
Hahaha..this is quite nonsense, i must get to know her better..
The second thing that startled me was PJ Harvey. The story is, i found a record by Tom Waits titled “I Never Talk To Strangers”. It was a duet and i loooove the voice of the female vocalist. Her singing was kinda swingyand jazzy. Later i found out that it was PJ. I have heard about her once or twice. I also saw one of her video.
The second my friend told me it was PJ Harvey who sang the duet, i visit her Myspace. What I saw is a woman with a Virginia Woolf’s image and songs with thin voice and high note and pitch..so different from her singing in the duet with Tom Waits..
Not saying that the new ones are bad, but i really love their first image it kinda made me sad to found out that they are not exactly close to what i had imagined..
(confused with the language? hehehe..i’ve forgotten most of my study of eng.)
Yayy..i should always remember to not judge someone’s image from just one time sight.

Haha, feels adrenalinous to realize that i can actually use this blog as a diary. Eventhough thingking of having a public diary makes me rather sick at mind, hehehe..
but i think it’s okay to have one, since i need many places to blurb into..
Tis morning, i wake up, not early at all, but not feeling as guilty as before..since i’m quite determined to what i’m going to do today and know my tasks..the hard thing is just as usual..to do the tasks,hehe..
Tis morning’s music. I listened to Trisum, a project by tohpati and 2 other partners, if later i like them so much i’ll review them. if.. but for today the song is pretty inspiring, nice sound, nice image. Also heard Kiss The Girl by Colbie, nice relaxing voice and attitude. The other songs i listened to tis morning not quite get my attention nor my affection, either too dull or too fancy.
now now, it’s noon. Have to get up and cleaning up. have a class at 2 and an appoinment at 1, 5, and half past eight..
love the apponment, halfhearted to do the others..
yaa..anyhow..
see u tomorrow (god, feel blessed to say tis)
Things Happened Recently..
- Just realized that it is “Minute Waltz”, not “Puppy of Waltz”, the title of the song Kai Ichinose played at his first contest in Piano no Mori manga.
- Found that band “Alia” at myspace. Their genre is altenative, horehore..!
- Hurt another people with my mouth..
Glorious Time..
Started another blog.. may it bring happiness, wit, or wisdom..and send my wrath away.. (haiyah..)
